The Beginning to an End

The Beginning to an End

Senior, Capitol Hill High School

I am a high school senior, and this means two big things, graduation and plans after. My personal plan for life after high school is to go to university and get a bachelor's degree and continue from there. However, I have not officially been accepted to a university, so I plan to go to a community college for a year or two and keep applying to university and transfer.

I have toured a lot of different colleges and universities over these three years and have received a lot of answer for my questions. However, I always come up with new questions to ask. When I have these questions, I contact some of my friends who are already in college, but I also ask my counselor and teachers. For more information you can also go to the university or call the university and speak with students and representatives there.

Most people will say that the best time to turn in an application for colleges is to do it quickly, such as when the application comes out. Applications can be online and on paper. They ask you questions about yourself, your financial situation, and the activities you participate in. Your answers can also help with scholarships. Scholarships help with the cost of the tuition and can come from a variety of things. University are kind of expensive. Community and technology centers are usually the best and the cheaper option.

I chose universities because they have higher degrees and would meet more of my needs. Thanks for reading my article and if you would like me to cover an event please contact El Latino American Newspaper by emailing Ellatinonews@hotmail.com or call the newspaper (405)632-1934.
