“Día de Aprender a Remar” Riversport -7 de junio
OKLAHOMA CITY, Oklahoma.— RIVERSPORT invita a la comunidad a ingresar al agua durante su Día Anual de Aprender a Remar Gratis el sábado 7 de junio en el Chesapeake Boathouse.
Celebrado en conjunto con la iniciativa National Learn to Row de USRowing, el evento presenta a los principiantes en el deporte con una lección práctica de remo gratuita. El año pasado, el evento atrajo a más de 90 participantes y proporcionó una introducción de alta energía al remo en el río Oklahoma.
La lección está abierta a participantes mayores de 14 años e incluye instrucción sobre máquinas de remo de interior seguidas de tiempo en el agua en una barcaza de remo. No es necesario tener experiencia, pero sí registrarse.
"El Día de Aprender a Remar es una forma divertida y sin presión de probar el remo por primera vez", dijo Chris Sorensen, director ejecutivo de RIVERSPORT. "Ya sea que tenga curiosidad por el estado físico, el trabajo en equipo o simplemente quiera probar algo nuevo, esta es una excelente manera de comenzar".

“Learn to Row Day” Riversport -June 7
OKLAHOMA CITY, Oklahoma— RIVERSPORT is inviting the community to get on the water during its annual Free Learn to Row Day on Saturday, June 7, at the Chesapeake Boathouse.
Held in conjunction with USRowing’s National Learn to Row initiative, the event introduces beginners to the sport with a free, hands-on rowing lesson. Last year, the event drew more than 90 participants and provided a high-energy introduction to rowing on the Oklahoma River.
The lesson is open to participants ages 14 and older and includes instruction on indoor rowing machines followed by time on the water in a rowing barge. No experience is necessary, but registration is required.
“Learn to Row Day is a fun, no-pressure way to try rowing for the first time,” said Chris Sorensen, RIVERSPORT executive director. “Whether you're curious about fitness, teamwork or just want to try something new, this is a great way to start.”
Participants should wear comfortable clothes, athletic shoes and socks, and bring a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen and a water bottle. Lessons begin on rowing machines (ergs) to teach basic motion before transitioning to rowing on the water.
RIVERSPORT offers Learn to Row classes for adults May through October, along with youth summer rowing camps and both recreational and competitive rowing programs. To register or learn more, visit riversportokc.org/learn-to-row.
