Estudiante de Bishop McGuinness recibe beca de la Fundación de Rane de Jimmy
Oklahoma City Oklahoma.- 2017 – Jenny Cano, una recién graduada de la escuela secundaria católica Bishop McGuinness, cumplierá su sueño de asistir a la Universidad de Oklahoma Norman Campus, al ser seleccionada a recibir la beca “Jimmy Rane Foundation”. Alejandra se graduará en biología.
Cano destacó en el aula logrando un 3.9 GPA mientras que también se desempeñó como Presidente del Spanish National Honor Society, Tesorera de MBrace Bible Study, capitán del equipo de natación, Presidential Ambassador, Presidente y coordinadora de comunicaciones del Senior Service Project y miembro de la sociedad nacional de Honor.
"No puedo recalcar lo suficiente acerca de qué tan importante es para mí esta beca en cuanto a mi educación universitaria", dijo Cano. "Aspiro a continuar con mi educación hasta la Universidad y luego a través de la Facultad de medicina, y este objetivo no se lograría sin la generosidad de los donantes y las becas que proporcionan," ella continuó.
Cano es uno de los 34 estudiantes seleccionados para recibir una beca de Jimmy Rane Foundation este año, y no cabe duda de que ella cumplirá sus sueños.
El Jimmy Rane Foundation ha otorgado 348 becas a estudiantes destacados, desde su creación en el año 2000. Jimmy Rane, fundador de Abbeville, based Great Southern Wood Preserving, Incorporated , son anfitriones del torneo anual de golf cada mayo, como el único evento de la Fundación, que atrae a patrocinadores corporativos e individuales. El torneo de golf reúne a más de 70 celebridades del deporte y cuenta con destacados invitados como Terry Bradshaw, Taya Kyle, Marcus Luttrell, Kirk Herbstreit, Peyton Manning y recientemente, Dabo Swinney. Bishop McGuinness Student Receives Jimmy Rane Foundation Scholarship
Jenny Cano, a recent graduate of Bishop McGuinness Catholic High School, will have help fulfilling her dream of attending the University of Oklahoma Norman Campus, thanks to her selection as a Jimmy Rane Foundation scholar. She will major in biology.
Cano excelled in the classroom achieving a 3.9 GPA while also serving as president of the Spanish National Honor Society, treasurer of MBrace Bible Study, captain of the swim team, officer of Presidential Ambassador, communications coordinator chair of the Senior Service Project and member of the National Honor Society.
“I cannot stress enough how important scholarship money is to me in regards to my college education,” Cano said. “I aspire to further my education through college and then through medical school, and this goal would not be achieved without the generosity of donors and the scholarships they provide,” she continued.
Cano is among the 34 students selected to receive a Jimmy Rane Foundation scholarship this year, and there’s no doubt that she will go on to accomplish her dreams.
The Jimmy Rane Foundation has awarded 348 college scholarships to outstanding, well-deserving students since its establishment in 2000. Jimmy Rane, founder of Abbeville-based Great Southern Wood Preserving, Incorporated, hosts the Foundation’s annual golf tournament each May as the single fundraising event for the Foundation, which draws both corporate and individual sponsors. The golf tournament brings together more than 70 sports celebrities and has featured guest speakers such as Terry Bradshaw, Taya Kyle, Marcus Luttrell, Kirk Herbstreit, Peyton Manning, and most recently, Dabo Swinney.
