Kam Chancellor fuera por el resto de la temporada

RENTON, Washington (AP) — Kam Chancellor quedó fuera por el resto de la temporada. No se sabe si el destacado jugador defensivo de los Seattle Seahawks volverá a jugar.
El entrenador Pete Carroll dijo el lunes que Chancellor se perderá el resto de la temporada debido a la lesión en el cuello que sufrió a principios de este mes, pero no especulará sobre el futuro de Chancellor.
Todo lo que Carroll diría por ahora es que Chancellor no necesita cirugía y cualquier decisión sobre su futuro depende del jugador.
"Se siente bien, se siente cómodo. No está incómodo en absoluto, lo cual es bueno", dijo Carroll el lunes, un día después de que Seattle venciera por 24-13 a San Francisco. ''Hay un proceso en el que hacemos el trabajo, arriba y abajo, y realmente trato de ser respetoso de Kam y dejar que él tome las riendas de lo que se sabe y todo eso y cómo quiere hablar al respecto porque este es él. No somos nosotros, es él y lo apoyaremos todo lo que podamos.
"Fue un factor fantástico en este juego, en el vestuario y en la banca, fue un gran motivador para ayudar en la comunicación y esas cosas. Me alegra que se quede con nosotros y aún así agrega la presencia que siempre ha podido agregar''.
Chancellor ha pasado toda su carrera en Seattle, convirtiéndose en titular en 2011. Recientemente, pasó un tiempo alejado del equipo mientras se reunía con médicos para determinar la gravedad de su lesión y los posibles cursos de acción.
Chancellor aparentemente resultó lesionado en la victoria sobre los Cardinals mientras tacleaba a Andre Ellington cuando quedaban poco más de dos minutos de juego. Se quedó por una jugada más antes de irse para ser atendido en la banca.

Kam Chancellor out for the rest of the season

RENTON, Washington (AP) — Kam Chancellor is done for this season. Whether the standout strong safety for the Seattle Seahawks plays again is unknown.
Coach Pete Carroll said Monday that Chancellor would miss the rest of the season due to the neck injury he suffered earlier this month, but would not speculate about Chancellor’s future.
All Carroll would say for now is that Chancellor does not need surgery and any decision on his future is up to the player.
‘’He feels good, he feels comfortable. He’s not in discomfort at all, which is good,’’ Carroll said Monday, a day after Seattle’s 24-13 win over San Francisco. ‘’There is a process with when we do the work, up and down stuff, and really I’m trying to be really respective of Kam and let him call the shots of what is known and all that stuff and how he wants to talk about it because this is him. It’s not us, it’s him and we’ll support him all that we can.
‘’He was a fantastic factor in this game, in the locker room and on the sideline, big time helping the communication and stuff. I’m glad he’s staying with us and still adding the presence he’s always been able to add.’’
Chancellor has spent his entire career with Seattle, becoming a starter in 2011. He recently spent time away from the team while meeting with doctors to determine the severity of his injury and possible courses of action.
Chancellor was apparently injured in the win over the Cardinals while tackling Andre Ellington with just over two minutes remaining. He stayed in for one more play before leaving to be attended on the sideline.
