Beatriz Meyer "Madre del Año 2024"

Desde el año 2000 el periódico El Latino American ha reconocido a las madres como el corazón de la familia y de nuestra sociedad. El Latino American con sus patrocinadores apoya firmemente la educación y los valores familiares, creemos que con familias fuertes tenemos niños fuertes y con niños fuertes tenemos comunidades fuertes.

“La Celebración Conferencia anual honrando al Dia de las Madres que presenta el periódico El Latino American, Supermercado Morelos y Patrocinadores, tiene como objetivo reconocer a las madres y el importante papel que desempeñan en nuestras familias, en nuestra sociedad y en la nación. Las madres son nuestras superheroínas, nuestros modelos a seguir, nuestras mejores amigas y mucho más", “Esta celebración no solo les provee valiosa información de temas que afectan sus vidas, sino las celebramos, aplaudimos, y les hacemos saber lo importante que son para nuestras familias”,  dijo Norma Condreay, editora del periódico El Latino American, fundadora de El Latino American Mother's Day en Oklahoma.

Los premios a la Madre del Año son una oportunidad para mostrar a las mujeres responsables de una excelente crianza dentro de la comunidad. Sabemos que hay muchas madres dentro de la comunidad que merecen recibir el premio a la Mamá del año. Por lo tanto, el periódico El Latino American presenta una encuesta para recibir nominaciones a los premios durante un período de más de tres meses, los nominadores preparan una declaración sobre "por qué creen que su Mamá o la Mamá que nominaron es La Mamá del Año".

Un panel de jueces evalúa las 3 nominaciones principales, la que tiene mayor influencia en la vida de sus hijos, familia y la comunidad es reconocida en la cena de gala de la Conferencia de Celebración del Día de las Madres que presenta el periódico “El Latino American”

Este año, El Latino American - Mamá de Año (El Latino Mother of The Year 2024) fue entregado a la Sra. Beatriz Meyer, Instructora en Oklahoma City Community College - Capitol Hill Center. 

. "El reconocimiento a la madre del año se hizo para proporcionar una inspiración en todo el estado, que representaría el amor incondicional, la fuerza interior y el coraje de una madre", dijo Norma Condreay. Tenemos el honor de presentarles a Beatriz Meyer "la Maestra" como muchos la llaman de cariño.

"Beatriz Meyer nació en la Ciudad de México y ha vivido en Oklahoma City por más de 50 años. Llegó de México con su madre, su padre y su hermano a finales de la década de 1960. 

Fue a la escuela cuando no había programas de ESL ni intérpretes de español, por lo que tuvo que aprender inglés sin ninguna ayuda. 

De niña, se dio cuenta de lo difícil que era para sus padres aprender el idioma y la cultura de este país. 

Ella es bilingüe y bicultural, lo cual es muy importante para ayudar a sus estudiantes a asimilarse a este país. Ha trabajado durante más de 22 años para–Oklahoma City Community College. Primero como instructor adjunto a tiempo parcial para varios departamentos y, más recientemente, como instructor de ELL a tiempo completo en el Capitol Hill Center. 

Su pasión por la educación y las experiencias que ha compartido con sus alumnos les ayudan alcanzar sus metas. Ella "adopta" a sus alumnos tan pronto como ingresan a sus clases. Para ella, los estudiantes se convierten en sus hijos y quiere lo mejor para ellos. Se siente orgullosa cuando los conoce años después y le cuentan todos sus logros. 

Durante los últimos 20 años, ha trabajado con la comunidad hispana como intérprete/traductora, instructora, facilitadora y voluntaria para ayudar a su comunidad a crecer y prosperar en los Estados Unidos.

Es una madre orgullosa de su hija Ashley Meyer, de 33 años, y de su hija perra, Brinkley, de casi 2 años.

Beatriz Meyer por todo lo que hace dentro y fuera de su hogar, por su gran labor que realiza dia a dia con sus estudiantes, por ser la inspiración para muchos, bien merecido reconocimiento “Mamá del Año 2024” que sigan los exitos.

Since 2000, El Latino American has recognized mothers as the heart of the family and our society. "The annual Mother's Day Celebration Conference presented by El Latino American newspaper, Supermercado Morelos and Sponsors, aims to recognize mothers and the important role they play in our families, in our society and in the nation. Mothers are our superheroes, our role models, our best friends and so much more," "This celebration not only provides them with valuable information on issues that affect their lives, but we celebrate them, applaud them, and let them know how important they are to our families," said Norma Condreay, editor of El Latino American newspaper, founder of El Latino American Mother's Day in Oklahoma.

The Mother of the Year awards are an opportunity to showcase the women responsible for excellent parenting within the community. We know that there are many mothers within the community who deserve to receive the Mom of the Year award. Therefore, the newspaper El Latino American presents a survey to receive nominations for the awards over a period of more than three months, the nominators prepare a statement about "why they believe their Mom or the Mom they nominated is The Mom of the Year."

A panel of judges evaluates the top 3 nominations, the one that has the greatest influence on the lives of their children, family and community is recognized at the gala dinner of the Mother's Day Celebration Conference presented by the newspaper "El Latino American" .

This year, El Latino American - Mamá de Año (The Latino Mother of The Year 2024) was presented to Mrs. Beatriz Meyer, instructor at Oklahoma City Community College - Capitol Hill Center. 

"The Mother of the Year award was made to provide a statewide inspiration, which would represent a mother's unconditional love, inner strength and courage," said Norma Condreay. We have the honor of introducing you to Beatriz Meyer "la Maestra" as many affectionately call her.

Beatriz Meyer was born in Mexico City and has lived in Oklahoma City for more than 50 years. He arrived from Mexico with his mother, father, and brother in the late 1960s. 

She went to school when there were no ESL programs or Spanish interpreters, so she had to learn English without any help. As a child, she realized how difficult it was for her parents to learn the language and culture of this country. 

She is bilingual and bicultural, which is very important to help her students assimilate to this country. She has worked for more than 22 years for Oklahoma City Community College. First as a part-time adjunct instructor for various departments and most recently as a full-time ELL instructor at the Capitol Hill Center. 

Her passion for education and the experiences she has shared with her students help them achieve their goals. She "adopts" her students as soon as they enter her classes. For her, students become her children and she want the best for them. She is proud when she meets them years later and is told of all their accomplishments. 

Over the past 20 years, she has worked with the Hispanic community as an interpreter/translator, instructor, facilitator, and volunteer to help her community grow and thrive in the United States.

She is a proud mom to her daughter Ashley Meyer, 33, and her dog daughter, Brinkley, who is almost 2 years old.
