Comunidad se une para ayudar a familias afectadas por HIV/AIDS

Oklahoma City – Manteniendo el legado de una mujer del area local, Otras Opciones- Inc. en una asociación especial con Sunnyside Dinner planea servir 1,000 comidas completas a aquellos afectados por dificultades durante este año en el Día de Acción de Gracias. Este el décimo noveno año consecutivo que “Other Options Inc”. servirá 750 comidas de acción de gracias a las familias de la zona, afectadas por el VIH/SIDA, y gracias a los esfuerzos caritativos de Sunnyside Diner, Otras Opciones también servirá 250 comidas a la comunidad sin hogar y en situación de inseguridad en la ciudad de Oklahoma el 22 de noviembre.

"En 1999, mi madre (fundadora de Otras Opciones-Cookie Arbuckle) se asoció primero con Scotty Irani para nuestra primera Acción de Gracias para entregar y servir 34 comidas," dijo Mary Arbuckle, Director Ejecutivo de Otras Opciones. "Desde entonces ha crecido cada año".

Este año la asociación entre Otras Opciones y Sunnyside Diner ayudará a servir a más gente necesitada durante los días festivos, algo que Cookie dedicó su vida para lograrlo, dijo María.

"Este será nuestro tercer año que presentamos Acción de Gracias de Cookie en Sunnyside Diner. Aunque es lamentable que haya una necesidad, nos sentimos honrados de servir a nuestra comunidad," dijo a Aly Cunningham, co-propietario de Sunnyside Dinner

Para ayudar con los gastos de $7,000  dólares para servir una comida fresca, tradicional de acción de gracias a 1,000 personas, la organización “Otras Opciones” está aceptando donaciones monetarias. Community comes together to help families affected by HIV/AIDS 

Oklahoma City .-Upholding a local woman’s legacy, Other Options, Inc. in a special partnership with Sunnyside Diner plans to serve 1,000 full meals, with leftovers included, on Thanksgiving Day to those affected by hardship during this year’s Cookie’s Thanksgiving.

For the 19th year in a row, Other Options Inc. will serve 750 Thanksgiving meals to area families affected by HIV/AIDS, and thanks to charitable efforts by Sunnyside Diner, Other Options will also serve 250 meals to the homeless and food-insecure community of Oklahoma City on Nov. 22.

“In 1999, my mother (founder of Other Options, Cookie Arbuckle) first partnered with Scotty Irani for our very first Thanksgiving by delivering and serving 34 meals,” said Mary Arbuckle, Other Options Executive Director. “It’s grown every year since.”

This year's partnership between Other Options and Sunnyside Diner will help serve more people in need during the holiday, something Cookie dedicated her life to achieve, said Mary. 

“This will be our third year of hosting Cookie’s Thanksgiving at Sunnyside Diner. While it’s unfortunate for there to be a need, we are honored to serve our community,” said Aly Cunningham, Sunnyside Diner co-owner. 

To help offset the $7,000 expense of serving a fresh, traditional Thanksgiving meal to 1,000 people, Other Options is accepting monetary donations. With the expectation of leftovers, the cost of a meal is $6.67 per person. Tax-deductible donations can be made via the Other Options website at www.otheroptionsokc.org.
