La Primavera en Estados Unidos inicia entre el 20 y 21 de marzo y termina el 21 de junio. Aparte de poder disfrutar de la música y actividades al aire libre que se realizan, acompañados de días soleados con brisas frescas que se presentan en la primavera
En marzo aun no suele sentirse el cambio, pero ya en abril y mayo el tiempo comienza a mejorar, dejando sentir el calor del verano. En general el clima en la época de primavera, es bastante peculiar debido a que durante estas fechas suelen haber lluvias, sin embargo, no llegan a ser abundantes. Generalmente durante el día, la temperatura es cálida y durante la noche, es fresca.
Durante la temporada primaveral las tarifas de los hoteles, aerolíneas y paquetes turísticos tienen costos regulares. Debido a que esta es una época de transición, a finales de marzo e inicios de abril, los precios aún son bajos, sin embargo, con la mejora del clima, los precios también se elevan mientras más acerca al verano.
Cuando llega la primavera, Oklahoma y todo Estados Unidos despierta, las actividades dentro de los parques inician y el sol vuelve a iluminar las calles. Haciendo un poco de historia, durante la Feria de Chicago de la Copa Mundial 1983, los Estados fueron invitados a enviar una flor del estado para el evento, Oklahoma inicialmente optó por enviar la flor de la pasión, pero encontró que Arkansas había elegido la misma flor. Oklahoma en su lugar optó por enviar el muérdago como su flor del estado en su lugar. Debido a las protestas en los últimos años, el muérdago ha sido sustituido por la rosa de Oklahoma como la flor oficial del estado en 2004, pero se mantiene en el emblema floral de Oklahoma el muérdago.
La rosa de Oklahoma es una flor de color rojo oscuro, con un fuerte olor a rosa viejo que es dulce para la nariz. Tiene un promedio entre 45 a 50 pétalos por flor y tiene un diámetro medio de 5 pulgadas. Se puede llegar a ser de unos 4-8 metros de altura. Sus brotes se abren en grandes flores dobles.
Debido a la naturaleza del muérdago, tiene un parásito, y su estatus como la flor oficial del estado fue protestado por décadas. Mistletoe ataca una planta huésped y se alimenta de los nutrientes de la savia de su huésped. Muérdago ha sido designada como la flor del estado en la sección 25-92 de los Estatutos de Oklahoma.
