Buenas noticias para los emigrantes venezolanos, ¿y los dreamers para cuándo?

Las noticias son excelentes para la comunidad venezolana en Estados Unidos, pero también para los dreamers, a pesar de la reciente decisión de un juez de Texas.
El anuncio del secretario de Seguridad Nacional, Alejandro Mayorcas, sobre la extensión de la elegibilidad para optar al TPS venezolano (a todas las personas que hubiesen llegado a territorio americano antes del 31 de julio de 2023), se traduce en números.
Cerca de medio millón de venezolanos podrán evitar una deportación. Y, aunque el TPS no da la residencia permanente por sí solo, es un camino, un puente que permite —a través de otros procedimientos— optar a la Green Card.
El caso de los dreamers es diferente, pero también hay buenas noticias para ellos. La decisión reciente, donde el juez estableció que, de alguna manera, el programa de dreamers era ilegal, hay que analizarla detenidamente. Lo más importante es que permite —y va a seguir así durante mucho tiempo— que todos los que ya tienen DACA, puedan seguir renovando sus aplicaciones, sin ningún tipo de problema.
La dificultad la tienen los nuevos aplicantes que, desafortunadamente, no son elegibles para DACA, de acuerdo con los términos de la decisión. Pero no olvidemos que esto no es un punto final.
Ahora habrá una apelación y el caso, probablemente, llegará a la Corte Suprema de Justicia (CSJ). En este sentido, hay que recordar que el máximo tribunal dijo en fecha reciente que la implementación de programas migratorios de enforzamiento de prioridades, es facultad del gobierno federal.
Entonces, podemos esperar que en los próximos meses haya una decisión distinta a la que dictó el juez de Texas.
La comunidad DACA o dreamers supera en estos momentos los 600.000 aplicantes. O sea, es un grupo gigante a lo largo y ancho de Estados Unidos, con muchas nacionalidades.
