La forma en que se lleva a cabo la elección en cada distrito depende del número de candidatos:
• Si solo un candidato calificado se presenta para postularse, ese candidato es elegido automáticamente para el cargo.
• Si dos candidatos calificados se presentan para postularse, el ganador de las elecciones generales del 11 de febrero es elegido para el cargo.
• Si tres o más candidatos calificados se presentan para postularse, las elecciones generales del 11 de febrero determinan si es necesaria una segunda vuelta el 1 de abril.
o Si un candidato obtiene más de la mitad de los votos el 11 de febrero, es elegido para el cargo. No es necesaria la escorrentía.
o Si ningún candidato obtiene más de la mitad de los votos el 11 de febrero, los dos candidatos con más votos avanzan a la segunda vuelta del 1 de abril. El ganador de la segunda vuelta es elegido para el cargo.
El Concejo Municipal tiene nueve miembros: el Alcalde, elegido en toda la ciudad, y un miembro de cada uno de los ocho distritos de Oklahoma City. Eight candidates file for City Council general election
Eight candidates filed to run for Oklahoma City Council seats in Wards 1, 3, 4 and 7. The general election is Feb. 11, 2025. All voters in Wards 1, 3, 4 and 7 can vote.
The nonpartisan election will decide who represents those Wards on the Council for the next four-year term.

How the election proceeds in each Ward depends on the number of candidates:
• If only one qualified candidate files to run, that candidate is automatically elected to office.
• If two qualified candidates file to run, the winner of the general election on Feb. 11 is elected to office.
• If three or more qualified candidates file to run, the general election on Feb. 11 determines whether a runoff on April 1 is necessary.
o If a candidate earns more than half of the votes on Feb. 11, he or she is elected to office. No runoff is necessary.
o If no candidate earns more than half of the votes on Feb. 11, the two candidates with the most votes advance to the April 1 runoff. The runoff winner is elected to office.
The City Council has nine members: the Mayor, elected citywide, and one member from each of Oklahoma City’s eight Wards. They serve part-time as the head of the City’s Council-Manager form of government. The mayor’s annual salary is $24,000, and each Council member’s is $12,000.
