YMCA y Agencia Latina celebran la apertura del Pete White YMCA

La YMCA of Greater Oklahoma City, en colaboración con la Agencia Latina para el Desarrollo Comunitario (LCDA), celebró el lunes 2 de marzo la Gran Reapertura del Pete White YMCA, marcando una nueva etapa enfocada en el bienestar inclusivo, la conexión comunitaria y el apoyo a las personas mayores.

Como parte de esta alianza, el Programa Puerta de Oro de LCDA ampliará sus servicios en el centro, ayudando a adultos mayores —especialmente de la comunidad latina— a acceder a recursos esenciales, incluyendo asistencia con seguros médicos e inscripción como miembros de la YMCA.

Durante el evento, líderes comunitarios destacaron la importancia de crear un espacio acogedor y accesible para todos los residentes del área de Capitol Hill y alrededores. La celebración incluyó presentaciones especiales y mensajes de directivos de ambas organizaciones.

Para conmemorar la reapertura, la YMCA ofreció pases gratuitos por un día y eliminó la cuota de inscripción para nuevos miembros, invitando a la comunidad a conocer las instalaciones y programas disponibles.

YMCA and Agencia Latina Celebrate Reopening of Pete White YMCA 

The YMCA of Greater Oklahoma City, in partnership with the Agencia Latina para el Desarrollo Comunitario (LCDA), celebrated on Monday March 2nd the Grand Reopening of the Pete White YMCA, marking a renewed commitment to inclusive wellness, community connection, and senior engagement.

As part of the partnership, LCDA’s Puerta de Oro Senior Program will expand its services at the center, helping older adults — particularly within the Latino community — access essential resources, including health insurance enrollment assistance through participating providers and support with YMCA membership registration.

Community leaders highlighted the importance of creating a welcoming and accessible space for residents of Capitol Hill and surrounding neighborhoods. The celebration featured remarks from organizational leaders and a special mariachi performance.

To commemorate the reopening, the YMCA offered free day passes and waived enrollment fees for new members, inviting the community to explore the facility and its programs.
