OKLAHOMA CITY – Senate Democratic Leader Julia Kirt, D-Oklahoma City, said Senate and House Democrats will welcome ideas from the public for new and updated legislation on Nov. 18. According to the statement, this will be his last 2025 law dialogue event with the public on Capitol.

We would love to hear from Oklahomans about their ideas for new laws that they would like to see proposed, or to change or repeal laws that are already on the books," said Senate Democratic Leader Julia Kirt, D-Oklahoma City. "This is your chance to tell us what needs improvement and what problems we can solve as we approach our first deadline to finalize bills for the 2026 session."
The organisers also emphasise the importance of the active participation of citizens in this type of meeting, stressing that each contribution can have a real impact on the development of fairer laws that are more appropriate to current needs. Stakeholders are encouraged to prepare to present their proposals in a clear and concise manner, thus fostering a constructive and results-oriented dialogue for the next legislative session.
The Capitol Conversation on Bill Ideas will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 18 in Room 535 of the State Capitol, beginning at 5:30 p.m. Eric Barr, Metriarch Legislative and Policy Analyst, will present an overview to help explain the bill's process, then members of the public will have up to three minutes to share their ideas and priorities for the proposed measures.
"This is a great opportunity to discuss policy solutions to real problems facing Oklahomans," said Rep. Suzanne Schreiber, D-Tulsa. "Conversations with legislators and fellow Oklahomans will help create meaningful legislation for the 2026 session."
