El precio promedio de un automóvil nuevo ahora es 7,2 por ciento superior al MSRP, (precio de fábrica) una caída desde el 8,9 por ciento superior al MSRP de hace un año, y una tendencia positiva para los compradores de automóviles nuevos que buscan una oferta.
El último estudio del sitio iSeeCars.com analizó más de 16 millones de ventas de automóviles nuevos para identificar tendencias de precios y qué automóviles tienen los precios más altos y más bajos en comparación con el MSRP.
"Si bien encontrar un descuento en un vehículo nuevo sigue siendo un desafío, es mucho más fácil para los compradores de vehículos eléctricos, camionetas grandes y SUV", dijo Brauer.
“El mercado parece haber alcanzado un punto de saturación para los vehículos eléctricos, y tanto los precios como las ventas están luchando en comparación con hace un año.
El alto costo de las camionetas y SUV de tamaño completo, junto con el costo de alimentarlos ante la inflación y el menor poder adquisitivo de los consumidores, ha disminuido la demanda de estos vehículos notoriamente caros”

El vehículo nuevo promedio tiene un precio $45,880 dólares, que es un 7.2 por ciento ($3,091) por encima del MSRP promedio de $42,789 dólares. 15 automóviles nuevos ahora tienen precios inferiores al MSRP, y los vehículos eléctricos representan seis de los 10 precios más bajos.
Por segmentos: los vehículos eléctricos tienen la prima de precio mas pequeña, un 6.1 por ciento sobre el MSRP. Los modelos de lujo y los autos de alto rendimiento tienen las primas más altas sobre el MSRP. En cuanto a las marcas, Porsche, Mini y Genesis tienen la prima de precio promedio más alta; Infiniti, Acura y Buick tienen las primas promedio más bajas.
